Getting really close now. Just 2 more pages. Makes me want to just binge the rest. But, ah, I should probably do some homework or something soon. It hasn't even been a week since classes started and I'm already sick of it.
Next scene will have more characters; I got off easy with this one since it's mostly just Sans. But I wonder what Undyne will think of this mess.

OMG these last two pages hit me right in the kokoro!!!! ;..; Now I wanna watch the actual anime! O..O And I think it is such a good representation of Sans in a different time and place!

I highly recommend the actual anime! There are two different anime, and I prefer the 2009 version (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood). The 2003 version was made before the manga was finished, so it has its own plot after a certain point. The 2009 one follows the manga all the way through.
I try to keep them in character. ^^ I do have to alter Sans' personality a bit. Because I just don't think canon Sans would get himself into some of the situations in FMA.

Yeah, crossovers are always a but tricky from this point of view, but that's part of the fun, right?

The 2009(Brotherhood)/manga version. The 2003 version doesn't make much sense to me and was generally weird at times.
Yeah, gotta get a bit creative. It's like writing a story, but already having a plot as some base characters to go off of.

Yeah. I don't imagine monsters have blood, since you only see it with Sans, despite other characters receiving similarly devastating wounds. And Undyne just melts.
There's a pen or pencil or something in the room, but I figured it wasn't in easy reach for someone who can barely move. It's a miracle he hasn't passed out yet. And there's something symbolic about the blood seal, and I figured some magic was the closest analog to it.

True, true. It works really nicely. Although, how would you explain that Sans has blood when he's dying?

If we're talking about theorizing for canon, I don't really have an explanation. Could just be ketchup, could be DT, could be that he's a bit different from the other monsters. It's one of those mysteries. I just know none of the other monsters ever bleed in the game, so Sans is the odd one out in that regard(Toriel and Undyne both receive wounds that are pretty similar to Sans'). Not even Papyrus does, so we can't call it a skeleton thing. My question is if it's something that could always happen to Sans, or if something happened to him later to cause it.
For FMT, I have some ideas.

Heh, yeah, sometimes leaving them be is a good thing to do. But I enjoy seeing the different takes on it.
There's a reasonable explanation to each theory on the bleeding thing. I mean, I could've just been a design choice for all we know. No need to make Papyrus' death unnecessarily gory, for example. And Sans' was done just to make the his whole death scene more dramatic. But I like to think there's a lore reason for it.

Hehe. :') Adding blood would be a bit much, even though something like that would definitely be bloody.
It would be a bit of a drastic change if you suddenly changed the art style like that, haha. I went simple cuz I knew it would get too exhausting for me to add color. I decided to just do small bits that seemed necessary, otherwise I'd get carried away and work way too hard on just a single panel-even the less important ones. I'm still a bit perfectionistic as it is. And I also just suck at backgrounds. The next chapter will definitely have more than this one did. My method is mostly gonna be establishing shots and backgrounds only as necessary.
I respect everyone who can go with full color and backgrounds for a comic. That's a lot for one person to do.

Pfft %) I'm sure half of my fanbase will just yeet me out of the window if I do that to AO. But I won't, it's not my style of doing things, besides, coloring is literally the easiest part of making a comic like that.
You're doing great. Your comic is a great reminder for me that in making something outstandingly good that transfers emotions, story and ideas you don't have to spend hours and hours. I hope it'll be such a nice reminder for you as well (in terms of being a perfectionist) and I'm simply grateful for the way you do your comic. It has nice, well thought linework, and it captures exactly what every frame needs without making unnecessary details. Backgrounds will do nicely just to set a place where things are happening. If you want to, I can share a couple of secrets of how I make mine :'D I'm most certain it'll help you in some way.
I too tend to overwork on certain things, one of the reasons I went into working on a dub with Phoenix, so I'll be able to show people everything I made in AO pages behind textboxes.

I really do like coloring. Lineart is actually the most tedious for me. But color can be pretty time consuming for me.
Some background tips would be great. I'm gonna need it.

He's got a lot of things to worry about atm, haha. His max HP is suddenly really low, and he's losing what little HP he has left, his soul is cracked and leaking, his brother literally disappeared, and there was a weird blob. Lots of things are happening.
