Description
Thank you for the suggestion and for the feature!Homework for my character design class, my assignment was to create a character that personifies a medium. Being that it's what I use the most, I chose digital. The drawing is, however, multi-medium, since I began with a pencil drawing (which had quite a few anatomical errors). I've studied Hyung-Tae Kim's work and his process, hoping to influence my "style" a bit more. I think it's time to journey a bit away from the "moe" style, especially from the responses my last project got.
The tablet pictured here is a Cintiq, however I actually painted this on my own Graphire 4 (we do have Cintiqs at my school, but I wanted to do this while watching Breaking Bad in my room... hehe).
The painting in the Cintiq screen is one I did a while back of Samus, which can be found here .
Original image was 11" x 17", 2B pencil on Bristol.
Painted in Photoshop CS5.

Are Cintiqs Linux-compatible? I'm a painter in desperate need of a tablet & I use a Penguin International as my laptop of choice.

The Cintiqs at my school are on Macs and Windows, and some of the systems at the animation building have Linux installed-- I'd say yes, they are compatible with Linux, though I've not personally used one while operating Linux.

I know nothing about computers so I wouldn't know.

The ThinkPenguin company makes nothing but computers with Linux pre-installed.

I assumed that. A Cintiq is a combination of a tablet and a monitor, and since I've seen them used on Linux systems I'm sure it would work? You could do the research yourself if you're really interested in that.

I figured it would help if I ask a Cintiq user.

I don't actually have a Cintiq, I'm poor. Nor have I ever used a Linux-exclusive computer, or Linux at all for that matter.

If you can, invest in a Penguin. Linux is a lot better than Windows.

Do you use a tablet? And if you do, what the software you use to draw? *-*

I use a Wacom Graphire 4, and I work in pencil then scan it in and paint over it in Photoshop.

Very nice! Although it seems you squashed the screenshot a bit so some things look a bit warped. Overall, a very nice picture!

That's actually exactly what I did, haha. After drawing everything I screenshot the image that is on the Cintiq from another drawing I did.

yeah i saw, there is a trick you couldve done, shouldve just shrunk the taskbar in the image so it matches ratio, then somehow edit the "photoshop" portion of it in to match ratio.
