I know this is early that we know nothing about the 3rd gameplay component or the new character but,-Sonic is the only playable character. This is surprising because I feel the demand for at least Tails and Knuckles to be playable.
-Instead we have classic sonic again. Whoopie. Why have a various cast when we can have literal clones of the same person?
-Modern Sonic is in 2.5D. Really why does he need 2D? It just makes having Classic Sonic even more redundant.
-other characters will get cameos. Oh goodie maybe they will get an additional 30 seconds of dialogue while being a suck up to Sonic.Β
Is anyone gonna tell me I'm wrong about this?

Sonic 06 is not Sonic Adventure 3.
Sonic Forces is not Sonic Generations 2.

Tell that to the people who insist that we already got Sonic Adventure 3 and then points towards 06. If they're allowed to do that, what stops me from doing the same, since Generations and Forces share big similarities to each other.

I'm not. This game isn't very good, so I don't see to much to disagree about. All the things you said happened, and we got another cruddy modern Sonic story. Enough said

With all the signs don't be surprise if the 3rd character isn't another Sonic like Boom Sonic or Adventure Sonic. That 3rd gameplay style better be completely 3d to balance out this 2d and 3d/2d bs that their continuing to use.Β

3D to 2.5D gameplay, Classic Sonic being their for no other reason than classic appeal, NO other character playable and are literally phoned in just to have them there to remind you that yeah they still exist. I wouldn't definitively call it Generations 2 but nearly all its hallmarks make it very close.

If new character is a non-Sonic I'd be disappointed if he/she is a assist character. Because that was delight in Generations. Why play as them when they can feed Sonic ego.

Analytic Rant-Sonic's Friends Aren't Sonic HimselfSo I wasn't completely sure on what I wanted to talk about until I thought of the current limbo more than half the characters of the franchise were in so I thought let's have a discussion about Sonic's friends.
I see there is two main reasons why people don't like Sonic's friends. Either they they think there are too many (I'll get to that) or for the simple fact they are not Sonic. I want to take the last one first as it is the lesser of two evils. Firstly what does the arguement mean even if it is not outright stated well simple.....it is mostly from a gameplay perspective. Minus Sonic look at the Genesis and Adventure 1 and 2 for instance and ask any regular what are the best parts of them. For the Adventure games you can make a list of how many people say "The Sonic and Shadow levels are the best parts" which is almost always the major opinion scattered about the differences. If it is a new character that is very speedy people won't have a problem but let it be a character it their own gimmick like Silver and watch people get mad about them being different from the gameplay of the other two Sonics.Β
