Description
Muchas muchas gracias to for making a (much smaller - just over 1MB) Flash file for me. Hopefully this will accomodate my family at home and other dialup users better.Related content

Sweet. You really made a lot of changes from the original idea to the final version. The ferret's fall here is better, and is pretty realistic.

Which program did you use for this? It's really good!

Well, the animation was done on paper. Photos were from a mounted camera, compiled and timed in QuickChecker. But free programs like MonkeyJam can do that kind of compositing as well.

Okay, this may seem a weird question, but how do you get the background to just kinda stay like that throughout the scene? How do you put it together? Why am I here? Is there a reason? Do freckles have any purpose?
Great animation! I have no critique, seeing as I could never do something like that anyway

The program I used allows that... you can set layers to Darken or Multiply like in Photoshop, so they're all on at once. As for the other questions... I can't help you with those.
Thanks for commenting!

Oh, but what program do you use?

It's called QuickChecker, but I don't own it, my school does. I expect it's somewhat expensive, though.

how did you do it!?????
ive always wanted to do hand drawn animations. so how did you do it, what programs, did you rub out the whole animal and drawit again for each frame or did you only rub out parts, those kind of things!?
its awsum!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kobb In reply to masterquack [2006-04-06 21:18:47 +0000 UTC]
I actually did each frame on a separate sheet of paper; no erasing involved, just tracing the character in a different position over the previous paper. There are around 50-60 drawings for each character. I use the school's pencil test program, which takes a picture of each sheet of paper using a digital camera. It also puts the layers together - the otter is on his own layer, the ferret on another, and the background on a third layer. Such programs are expensive, though... I don't own it myself.
I'm glad you liked it.

wow this is really cute. the only crit i could see on it, is that maybe when the other on the right swings his tail under the other one, the tail should stretch a bit. maybe it could give it a more whip like feel, cause right now it kinds just rolls uner his feet.

Kobb In reply to YoshiKimos [2006-04-05 19:37:21 +0000 UTC]
It does stretch, a little. It's just hard to see because this smaller version is jumpier than the large one... Also, the otter's spin/tailwhack is actually animated on ones, but this version doesn't show that very well. The huge file version, on the other hand, does... 'tis quite smooth.
However, I agree that more stretch would make it sharper. Thanks for pointing it out.

I should pay you to do an animation of a Taggit for me. XD Just walking, or twitching its tail, or something. Next time you come over here I'll slip you a five. XD

Haha. It would be GIF, but it would be cool. I'll see if I can fit in a little bit of Taggit fun when I return for the summer.

Jesus, that must have taken you forever. is that done on celluloid or paper? if its the latter, how do you get your characters to be transparent

Kobb In reply to CookSux [2006-04-04 05:47:01 +0000 UTC]
It's paper. My school has an animation program that can set the different layers to "Darken" or "Multiply," much like layers in Photoshop. Pretty cool, I think.
