Description My version of the Starship USS Discovery and the class of ships inspired by the original Crossfield-Class (which I view as being an NX-style ship similar to the Yorktown class battleship) .
I used elements of the Yorktown, and some other Star Trek ships and made a Matt Jefferies style of delta-starship.

Backstory:
This class started out as the Pioneer class of deep-space Expeditionary Battleships built during the last years of the Earth-Romulan War of the late 22nd Century.  By the time of the 4-years war with the Klingons, the Pioneer had been retrofit into the Yorktown Class and Crossfield class (a science-vessel variant of the Pioneer class).  Of those two classess, the USS Discovery was the ship which saw the most action, and encountered bizarre alien technology which allowed a travel method similar to the slipstream drive Voyager would encounter hundreds of years later.  From the alien tech USS Discovery encountered an new drive system was made.  This new drive system--known as a Trans-Dimensional Warp Drive system--used a pair of modified warp engines that when their warp fields were overlapped (by bringing them close to each other) a wormhole could be formed for a short period of time.  Due to the instability of the wormhole, three deflector/sensor arrays were needed to help navigate and maintain the wormhole the ship used to travel at warp speeds in excess of Warp 8.  This drive concept led to the creation of the Transwarp drive system that would come out sometime later.

Hi Chiletrek,

I agree.
Many of the STO ships are okay for a video game, but not for Star Trek.  The Star Trek Legacy ships are far better.

I cannot wait to see your new designs with triple-warp nacelles.

Hello:

I am looking at the video, there are quite nice designs there! .

Well, I am first going to rebuild my Constitution-era ships and then I can expand my basic fleet... and I do have some ideas already .

Hi Chiletrek,

I thought you might like those designs.
You can find that game cheap on ebay.

I found one with a Spanish language manual if that interests you, though the game is in English.

Hello:

I remember that game has some file types and coding from the same source the Armada games came from.

Hehehe, gracias por el enlace... I mean, thanks for the link .

Hi Chiletrek,

Yep, somebody opened a Stargate in Star Trek, I agree.
Must be what the Tardegrade drive does.

Next ship after the Kiev is the USS Excalibur class and is a Phase-I refit of the USS Excalibur (Constitution class) after the M5 Computer incident.

Hello:

Indeed . Freaking accidents can happen with modern technologies .

So the fabled ship number 8 in your lineup is finally the Constitution-like class ship from your universe? yay!

Hi Chiletrek,

Yes sir.
It will be a Class VIII type Advanced Cruiser.  The idea is that the Federation created a lighter, more-advanced, version of the Constitution class of starships prior to Phase-II.
In my ST Universe Phase-I is the first refti/upgrade, then Phase-II, III, and so forth until the space-frame is no longer useful.
If I do a Connie, it will be a Phase-II Connie based on the Excalibur.

Hello:

So your ST universe would be a lot like making many external and internal refits during the "mid-lives" of ships? Extending their usefulness the longer time possible? THat sounds better for budgets than been constantly designing and creating new classes.

I am very sure most of us want to see your Connie .

Hi Chiletrek,

Yes.
The original concepts for Star Trek from the 1960s to the early 2000s was that starships lasted for decades due to routine refits/upgrades as technology developed.
So just like my ships for Nexus Arcana (which come from this idea from Star Trek) I applied the Star Trek principle of starship utility to my ships.  This is where the new Star Trek movies and shows go off the rails (like STD) when they fail to make ships that follow this principle of recycling starships for as long as they can.
The Federation is a Social-Cooperative (not a collectivist state, nor is it a technocracy).  The original idea of the government of the Federation was based on H.G. Wells' "The New World Order".  That society is a cooperative, that has some elements of both socialism and Adam Smith (non-corporate) Capitalism.

www.amazon.com/New-World-Order…

All I have left for my Constitution-Class variant is the saucer.  Hopefully I'll have that done by this weekend.

Hello:

Yes, that helps keeping a stable and going fleet... and it would also increase ship numbers (as new classes would obviously always been appearing) that is very useful for emergency situations (and not just wars). I've been mentioned about that book before, and I've also been told by some people that dislike Star Trek because they see it as just communist, it is great to see more people, like you, understanding what Star Trek was really about.

Of course, you don't want to leave Scotty waiting .

Kind of reminds me of what we would have gotten for the Enterprise refit if Philip Kaufman, Chris Bryant and Allan Scott made the movie Star Trek: Planet of the Titans with the Ken Adam and Ralph McQuarrie-designed Enterprise.

If Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and Close Encounters of the Third Kind didn't come out in 1977, we would have had a very offbeat Star Trek movie for sure.

Thank you.
I agree.  if Paramount (or another company) had given Gene his "Star Trek Phase-II" then this configuration would have certainly been the new Enterprise.
I did use some of Ralph's old artwork as a guide for this design, but my main inspirations were the Yorktown from STL and Madkoifish's Discovery/Delta style starship.

Thank you.
I wanted a ship that looks like it is in between STE (Star Trek Enterprise) and STD (Star Trek Discovery).
So I used the STL (Star Trek Legacy) video game's most advanced ship for the STE-era, (the Yorktown class), as the basis for a Matt Jefferies design.
The other ship I used for my design was Madkoifish's version of Discovery (which is just amazing).

Thank you.
The only thing in STD that really turned me off the show is the look of it.
The story is good, the acting is okay, but the aesthetic is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.

Thank you.
I really wish CBS had gone with a modernized version of the Original aesthetic for Star Trek Discovery instead of the radical H.R.-Geiger Klingon looking ships (that look like they just flew out of David Lynch's Dune), and the Battle-Starships of the Federation that look like they were manufactured by the 13-Colonies of Battlestar Galactica.
Someone failed to realize where Matt Jefferies and Gene Roddenberry got their inspiration for Star Trek.
It comes from ONE movie.
Forbidden Planet.
This was the spaceship in that movie.
The United Federation Starship C-57D.

I like your design as well.
Did Madkoifish's design for the Discovery influence you as well.
He definitely influenced my design.

The other ship that inspired my design is the Yorktown from Star Trek Legacy.

Thank you.

I am trying to use ALL Star Trek resources available (with a focus on official stuff, meaning licensed by CBS/Paramount), not just what is considered "canon" as that is too restrictive.
