WOW! I can't thank everyone enough! This app has been added to So[link] and has been added to DownloadTube! I didn't even ask for it either! And i have recieved an award from DownloadTube for this! I have been receiving alot of messages about pasting into this app lately, and i want to clarify some thing. If you paste using right click or the edit menu instead of CTRL+V the text will be visible, also if you do insist on pasting with CTRL+V i added a button down at the bottom that says "Color to White", if you click that it should make your text visible. Also if you try to open a file with this and nothing shows up but the app, im sorry, you'll need to use File->Open, i am still working on it taking command line arguments to open files. Any other bugs, just PM or e-mail me, i love to get suggestions, and constructive crit. (just don't go to harsh on me!)

Notepad (Glass Edition) is a program i made
in my spare time to try and make boring old
Microsoft Notepad look a little spiffier and
modern. It has a completely glassed surface
which goes well with the "Aero" theme on
Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you would
like the source code just PM me, i'll send you
the visual studio solution file. It is programmed
in C#.

OS: At least windows Vista, but i added code to make it
compatible on earlier OSes, you just wont have the glass effect. (No, this won't work on Mac or Linux, sorry guys)

A couple of suggestions. I can't seem to save a default font. Also, I miss using CTRL+F, CTRL+G, CTRL+H, and F3 for finding, replacing and searching. If I had all of this then I would definitely replace the default notepad.

Yeah, im still working on somethings with it, the find and replace is a huge downside to it, i hate the way i implemented that, im working on that right now, i'll post another version when it is done

Hi I would like to localize this program into Chinese(Both Trad and Simp). Can I do so?
Second, I would like the F (Down arrow) -- The button besides Insert that will decrease the font size to have the bug fixed. Apparently, when I continuously clicking on the button to font size = 0, there is an exception, bug message. Due to my OS is Windows 7 Chinese Simpilified, I guess an screenshot wont help (Messages are in Chinese). This error is basically saying that emSize = 0 is invalid where emSize should be > 0 and less than System.Single.MaxValue .

I never thought of that, it does make sense that you can't have an EM size of zero, i'll throw some error catching in there tonight, and i would love to have this translated, i'll send you a list of words i need done, i'm currently working on French and Arabic, i've been swamped lately

I've used it a few times.. Mainly for novelty reasons (I don't use Notepad much usually) But it seems to be working fine on Windows 7 (Build: 7100) without any 'work arounds'

yeah, i have seven and i tested it smoothly on that, i actually dont use notepad that often, i just happened to be creating alot of batch files, and i was really bored, and i wanted a better looking notepad, ha

When I paste text into the notepad, the text is invisible. I must highlight it and change the color properties to make it visible. Is this fixable?

yes, just cclick the "Color to White" button down at the bottom, it will make all your text white. Your text appears invisible because of the way that windows deals with the aero effect, it makes anything black into glass

Its not working to good for me. I set it as the default program to open up txt file but when I click on the file it just opens up glass notepad not the file. I have to click file->open to get it to open the file. But it is very nice looking.
