For all of you who still care and patiently await GNP2, I FINALLY have news. It will never be released. Never. Not. Ever. BUT! Before I get you all sad and angry and stuff, let me tell you something else...I am making a better program. A newer program. A faster program. And a more feature-packed program.

Well actually, this is over 3 years old and was never actually released. The original was. And I gave the source to a few people. When I wrote the original I had just begun programming actually. I do not have any of the source code to these old programs anymore, unfortunately. But if you go here -

I am developing a new version. Programmed in C# using WPF, so all the different colors of text will have no problem displaying on the form. I do not plan to add command line parameters, unless i see a very good use for them (it's not that i dont like command line, I am a hardcore linux user as well). I did not program these to replace Microsoft Notepad, merely as a different option. This program has no release date yet, and I will probably not set one, instead, just release it whenever i finish it. The new program will support shortcut keys.

Unfortunately my cat knocked my external hard drive off my desk and I lost the source code. However, because I am at least (kind of) smart, I know I have a backup SOMEWHERE. The only question is where...
But to answer your question, probably not for a while yet. I know I've let a lot of people down with not releasing this yet, and to everyone out there: I am sorry, sincerely.

Airwolf, the application is just a single executable file. Just double click on it and it will run. It should be called "Glass Notepad.exe"

Can i translate it to Portuguese language? I think it's a great program, and could be avaliable in many languages, so i want help the way i can ^^

AFTER you can rename the generic file name!

1. MultiNote viewer (We want see 2 o more notes at the same time)
2. Post-It mode: Without toolbar, title bar & status bar with a hotkey
3. Navigation Panel: Adding leveles in a program or styles in a text, you will be able to expand, collapse or navigate in the document you are editing.
4. Regular Expression search.
5. Wait me for more...

I could see if i could do the multi note viewer, post it mode, and RegEx search. However, i'm not sure i would know how to do the collapsible levels in a document (i am not using my own document format, i am using standards that are already defined)

To install .Net Framework 4. Here is the Microsoft downloader:

.NET downloads fast enough but does take a looooong time to install on my fairly old laptop. Like...15 minutes. (MS...go figure). But thankfully u wont need to reboot your machine.
I think Windows7 came with .Net Framework 3.5 but the latest is 4. Windwos update for some reason doesn't update this.
And then install TraxxAmigaEp's glass notepad thingy from the "downloads" tab on his site, which he linked above.
1. The program asked me 2 install a font, which was supplied. Easy enough 4 me but sum others may not like this at all.
2. I thought somethin was wrong, but I didn't first ensure AERO was workin on my pc. DUMB ME. I can't seem to get AERO on this laptop so I'll try it on my destop later today. But... Without AERO...I can't seem to use this app. I can't see what the buttons say. But I'm sure it'll be a cool app.

OKAY so i got Windows7's AERO effect workin (had to reset my graphics card because my laptop is OLD). And WOW. This glass notepad rocks my world. Thank you TraxxAmigaEp! I'm also excited to try ~theking9794's glass notepad when it comes out. Yay free software!!!!

The padding between the text and the left and top must be at 0px in v1. Any way you might raise the padding to 5px or 10px for this release?
