Description
The Ponyville Library. Home of our favorite bookworm (and Spike and of course Owlowiscious).Black pigment ink on paper.
Number four of the MLP-Locations I did. This time, it is not so dramatic and menacing and the angle is rather common. But I tried to give the tree a twisted and strange appearance, much more subtle than the hospital for example.
MLP-Places:

Castle of the Ancient Royal Pony Sisters -> Click me
Ponyville Hospital -> Click me
Twilight's Library
Ponyville Marketplace -> Click me
MLP belongs to Hasbro

Nicely sketched. I love how you captured Twilight's Library's shape and dynamic. The shadowing is also great! I can't add shadow effects to my characters worth crap
Anyways, amazing job!

That's some lovely inking work, and a great job on making the old tree really look alive. You didn't skimp on the little details or even the big ones (like iron work and tracery, etc.). The few roots snaking about above ground seem to want to pull in new readers. Twilight Sparkle's doing? I 'm not sure if that's an intentional embellishment or just something I never noticed before. Poochy Owloysius was a cute touch too. Great composition and wonderful textures all around. Lovely.

Thank you kindly for your nice and detailed comment. It's motivating to see someone looking at one of my pictures for a longer time to notice the little details I tend to sneak in. So, once again, thank you for that and that you took the time to write it all down.
As for the roots... well to be honest it struck me while doing the roots, that the library will grow larger over time. I first noticed during my picture of zecoras hut, that this houses which were built into the trees look as if they were grown out of it. They all look very organic and the tree looks still healthy. So (in my imagination) the possibility exists that this is the cause of some magical or alchemistic influence (Zecora, Twilight) and so, if another room is needed or if the roots should grow in a certain way, the Ponies know ways of doing so. But thats just my train of thought that occured to me while doing the picture.

It's not really important, but I have to state that this is not pencil. It's black pigment ink. The main difference is, that I'm totally unable to erase anything, once it's on paper. Sometimes this adds a little something as I have to work around my own mistakes by including them into the picture (see the little black "scar" in the tree above the door).

Ooo, just like when I used to draw with charcoal pencil before, eraser is making it very black and the mistake just leave a grey residue and also spread more black around the canvas.

Many of my friends state, that my style reminds them of old fairy-tale books with hand drawn pictures in them. (either that or some of Disneys Gummybears live under this tree)

Although, I wouldn't define this as a sketch anymore, it took me some hours.
