amazing! almost 52 years of wall crawling and web-slinging. i am a huuuuuge spider-man fanboy (check my acutal DA-ID and you get an idea) and i thought it might be time for a proper piece, its been a while since i did my last spidey drawing and his birthday is right around the corner, so here you have it. did this for fun, and damn, it was fun! going to have this baby on my wall soon, at least in din a2.
there are three versions: clean artwork version, the "oldschool variant cover" (the lettering i grow up with) and the "modern" one.
for more info, detail-shots and a small wip history check out my blog (www.kopfstoff.blogspot.com)
PS: i am going to upload this one on society6 i think, tell me if you guys want printzzz!
Daily Deviation:
What better thing then a daily deviation could there be for the start of 2015?
this is my first one two! i am speechless that my old friend and companion spider-man managed to archieve
what none of my other illustrations on my profile could do...
so glad, smiling like that cheshire cat right now,
probably for the next few days!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! for all the love, likes and comments! overwhelming - i mean it!
especially Minato-Kushina and Lyricanna , you just made my day!

Added this to favorites. I like the details of Peter's costume, and how it's on him, and not just paint on skin. You can see all the wrinkles and rips and such.
The one thing that most artists don't realize about Spider-Man, though, is how impossible it is to eat with that mask like that. Folding it up above the nose makes it almost impossible to see anything below your nose. I suppose if his spider sense is good enough, it could act like a really advanced proprioception, but he still would be able to see what he's eating, let alone read what's in his comic.
But still a really good shot. I always appreciated this about Spider-Man. Batman has to make every panel that he's in look like he's bringing in the apocalypse, but Peter's not afraid to keep it real. Thanks for drawing this β₯

thank you, man! really glad that you appreciate the small
details about his costume and the work that went into it...
for the eating-thing, i guess you're right. i just love the
fact how he's just pulling it up like that in the comics/shows
to call his aunt, kiss mj or drink/eat something... it's a classic
in my opinion. btw: it's impossible to sit there like this too i guess.
and yeah, totally on your side -> artists should make them more often
more human, not more over-the-top!

what is that bracelet on his wrist?

kopfstoff In reply to bubul1986 [2015-01-03 03:52:06 +0000 UTC]
its his magazine, his ammo for the web-shooters.
in the late 70's there was the first live action spidey
played by hammond... i loved the original costum
made clunky and big magazines more then the
invisible ones from the newer designs.

That must be a kind of mini computer to look for his enemy's information, the storage for his web shooters and the controller of his costume. Β
