My girlfriend and I both have some lightbulb terrariums very very similar to this...! Right down to using a wire stand...
But how were you able to be so precise with the planting, and especially cleaning the inside of the glass?

Amazing and yet so damn simple, going to try myself when I get the chance.
Question if I may..
How did you get the glass so damn clean? I've read somewhere you need to use chemicals to do it, and other says you don't, so slightly confused.

I used detergent and hot water to clean only. The glass was already transparent, did not have that white powder.

It is very easy, check out: [link]
If you making a live terrarium, put on it a layer of quartz sand (you can use gravel or pebbles), to keep moisture, upon it a layer of activated carbon, that absorbs impurities and prevents mildew, and finally a thicker layer of peat moss.
You can also use fake moss and plants, then you dont need to use activated carbon.
