wow so misinformed. that "1%" statistic you people seem to love is incorrect, for the simple fact that over 60% of rapes are never reported, so the number of rape pregnancies are also unknown for sure, and as such there is no way to determine how many rape pregnancies are aborted. logic fail already.
that aside, a heartbeat doesnt mean its a baby. neither does feeling pain. what you fail to understand is that during the time abortion is legal, the nervous system isnt developed enough to be able to feel much of anything, and the brain isnt developed enough to process any nerve impulses that may occur.
lastly, it isnt a baby. a baby is born, you cant abort something that is already born. until its born, call it by what it is, a fetus/embryo/zygote. that is, unless you like coming off as uninformed.

Hate to be blunt, but an embryo/fetus in the first trimester cannot feel or think, because the brain is far from developed enough. So really, it's alive in the same sense as a bacterium is alive. Nobody screams "Murderer!" whenever I use antibacterial spray on my kitchen counter.

I agree fetus' arent babies. You are not 'hurting' the baby by having an abortion. However I am still against abortions. They make having unprotected sex way too easy.

Also an amusing thing to ask them: if abortion was made illegal like they want it to be, what should the legal punishment be for women who seek out/get illegal abortions?
