I've always wondered that the earth ponies must be very jealous of the unicorns and the pegasi, They don't really do anything else then stay on the ground. They can become stronger, but that's about it. If not, please prove me wrong~

Poor Octavia. I can see that she's wishing to transcend and become something more potent, or at least what she thinks will give her recognition and power. Silly pony: what you really need most is fulfillment. Sure, flying and using magic are very cool, but she has cutie marks for a reason — a passion she chose and should be honing to its fullest. Still, I can't blame her for dreaming of bigger things now and than, and it's actually a bit sad as she leans towards the wall: it's as if she thinks it really will make her an alicorn if she presses into it but she is just afraid to try. She knows it's not real and doesn't want to believe it's that easy.
Plus she's pretty awesome as-is.
