Wicked! It looks like one of the untenanted levels of Sursamen www.goodreads.com/book/show/88… , the Shellword at the heart of the SF novel 'Matter' by Iain M. Banks. Made of some kind of alien super material, Sursamen is the size of a large planet and has fourteen nested, thousand mile high 'levels', of which some are lit by thermonuclear 'suns' rolling along their indestructible 'ceilings' while the inhabitants live on the floor, decked out to resemble the surface of their home world. Some levels are empty and awaiting development. This could be one of those deserted ones. Needless to say, as a massive Iain Banks fan I've 'done' a tribute to this novel which looks like this: fav.me/d5qfzk0 .
