Description
Mandelbulb 3D v1.8.9: www.fractalforums.com/index.ph…DEcombinate in InvMax mode using: transform2IFS/cubetubeIFS/trans-qIFS/Tilingbrick2IFS/Menger3
Edit: I've now created an interactive 360 degree Panoramic version of this piece,
click the link below to view it. I'd recommend opening the link in a new tab, as the
viewer doesn't have any controls as such. Takes about 10-15secs to load....
interactive version using fieldofview.com
A larger version of this piece can be viewed, and prints purchased at: markjaybeefractal.com/external…

I could use a tutorial...love this...haven't been able to come even close. Any chance?

I don't do tuts I'm afraid Peter, but a wee hint: F1 has 2 iterations, and the 2nd part of
the DEcombinate should start from F5. You'll also have to adjust the Menger3 scale
and Cscale settings in the Nav to get the 'engineering' effect. I know it all looks a bit
cryptic, but it's the only way I can explain it.
This one's a bit special for me, otherwise I'd just send you the param set - sorry!
But good luck with it, and let me know what you come up with?

Can someone please explain to me exactly how this was made? From what I read my assumption is that he used a wall of code to generate it? Im so confused

MarkJayBee In reply to StockpileThomas [2013-09-28 11:25:20 +0000 UTC]
Hi Thomas! 'He' didn't actually need to write a wall of code for this; that task was
carried out by a wonderful - and free! - 3D fractal program called 'Mandelbulb 3D'.
See the link in the description to download a copy. Also have a look at the 'mandelbulb3d'
group for more info on 3D fractal art:
I hope you're now a little less confused?

Indeed Luca Shoehorned it in there mate - probably not using it 'right',
but it seems to change things subtly!

I've met people who say maths aren't useful, that they just use it to add and a few basic things. They say that a person who doesn't do a scientific or a math-related degree doesn't have to learn maths and they don't even know what fractals are. It's clear I need to show them this pic so that they see how wrong they are.
Amazing, seriously. I love this... *searches for more in your gallery*

I take your point about maths, and totally agree; however, I personally am a complete
mathematical matoid! Given suitable software and time though, I can manipulate the
fractal/mathematical world with the best of them!!
Really glad you like my work Lagoon!

I am to study to enter schools that teach 3D manipulation and fractals will probably be on the menu and I am indeed MINDBLOWN by your entire gallery.
Didn't manifest myself much but all your pieces are gorgeous and you have no idea how curious I am about fractals. *A*
