OMG I did Inuyasha canon!?This came out of nowhere last night while I was taking a break from thesis. It's been a while since I've drawn Inuyasha, so he morphed on me again. Ears, some of the facial structure, and the bangs have changed. For the better, though, methinks.
Have I mentioned how much I love my Figure Anatomy class? It's so fun to draw the figure and actually be able to mentally see what the bones and muscles are doing in there.
And in my normal fashion I noticed I forgot the damn prayer beads AGAIN after this was all scanned and cleaned up so it's staying that way. Rargh.

In my own greed at seeing more of your Inu pieces, I hope you take more time away from your thesis!
Inu looks so much older in this piece, and somehow more serious. Perhaps that is the reasoning behind no kotodama - he doesn't need then anymore.
I like the hint of ribs on his sides, and the flow of muscles in his arms rather than the clumping of biceps and triceps and the like.

One of the things I got geekishly excited about in the lectures for my Figure Anatomy class is that those digitations under the arms aren't ribs like I thought they were. Those shapes are the serratus anterior muscles.
It's cool to find out what the common shapes and indentations in the human body actually are... that's why I love that class.

I think I've just gotten to a point when people forget the beads and Inu's half naked...I assume Kagome and him have come to a turning point in their relationship where they trust each other enough to not need the beads anymore.

I drool over your anatomy. .... which sounds wrong, but it's true. I'd love to take art classes... but I don't have the patience to deal with the low level "Draw this box"-type stuff. ;_;

Yes, but before you can handle any of the high level stuff you have to master the basics of the "draw this box" stuff because it's true... if you don't fundamentally know how to draw well, it's just about impossible to do any other type of media. Even though I know drawing still life is boring. I had two semesters of that myself when I was a senior in high school and took basic drawing courses from the local university.

I can't believe how amazing you've gotten, Kris! Your Inuyasha pictures are looking more real everytime you post something new. But it still is able to keep it's illustrated look. I love it so much!

Maybe sometime over the summer once my thesis and all that stuff is finished. Even then it will probably just be a wash of color underneath the pencil work.
