I reproduced in detail the selectable liveries for this aircraft in the PS2 videogame Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, my favorite shoot-em up.
I did the lineart with Illustrator and the coloring with Photoshop.
The US Navy made several attempts to improve the Tomcat since the beginning of the '80s. Its main problem was its P&W engines unreliability: the Navy lost many F-14A in accidents caused by engine fails.
A solution came up with the adoption of General Electric's F110 engines: this resulted in the birth of the F-14B Tomcat Plus (originally named F-14A+).
The new engines were more powerful (they had enough power to allow a takeoff from the aircraft carrier without using afterburners), less fuel thirsty and – above all – more reliable; the GE engines were perfect for the Tomcat.
Moreover, for the first time, the Tomcat's multi-role capability were exploited: F-14 avionics software was always planned to use weapons for ground attack; hence the nickname "Bombcat", even if this feature was quite rarely used in action.
It's very difficult to distinguish an F-14B from an F-14A from the outside. The only visible difference is the different engine exhaust nozzles, which in Tomcat plus are larger and differently shaped.
Trivia: the Yuktoban camouflage at the bottom, coincidentally, is almost identical to one designed by me for the Tomcat when I was a kid!

I was working on the D version (one profile completed, one 70% and one 0%), but I hadn't enough time to finish it because of my job. Maybe I'll finish it sooner or later.

The bottom camo looks like that tested by VF-2 during one of their WESTPACs aboard USS Ranger during the '80s.

There's a couple of pics in the book Tomcat, by Tony Holmes, in the chapter Go West, Young Grumman. If you can find a copy of that book, you'll have your desired pics.

You're welcome. If you live in the Southwest, you could try looking for that title in Half-Price Books' Military Aircraft section...
