Special little comic I did for my Snails ask blog Ask-Glittershell: [link]A lot of love and twice as many layers went into my first real comic. I'm quite proud of it. The comic itself is narrated by Snails, and sorta preludes the blog and gives a bit of insight into what the blogs story is about.
I'll let the comic itself do the rest of the talking.

[Note]: Some people were mentioning this, it's not about dyslexia. He just really struggles with academics. The book is a visual gag etc.

Man, I don't know why, but this really makes me want to go and comfort him and tell him that he'll be fine. The funny thing is, up till this point I've never really thought about Snails at all. But now, I really want to develop an idea for who he/she is. And it also makes me ponder transgenderism. Great job hitting me in the feels, mate. It was a solid blow.

The font I used for this did something really really weird with periods that made the entire thing look awkward, so I left them out.

It's a story about a young boy struggling with gender identity issues.

The orange sock represents Snail's male sex while the purple one represents her female gender. Gender and sex are different.

its strange...i know what this is expressing..because i was like this as a child, and somewhat still am. if people really want to know, it appears Snails here may be Transgender. the orange sock is the Boy that everyone wants him to be, and the purple sock is the girl he wants to be. he wears the purple over the orange to make himself happy, to be who she wants to be, but the orange over the purple, is a bit deeper, as now he is calling the purple sock his normal sock, and hes having to hide it with a masculine facade to make his friends happy. Sadly, Suicide is very rampant in transgender youth,
this may not be the actual artists intent, but thats the funny thing about art, it speaks differently to people.
