ok, can someone give me some info on just exactly what these creatures are? i was just recently introduced to them and i think they are just the coolest thing i've ever seen plus i'm ...well i guess i'm on the verge of being a furry and would just love to make a fursuit of one of these bad boys.

supposedly evolved from raptors even tho mammals in just about every way save from some versions of them having feathers at the base of the tail. there's a bunch of wikis on them, just google them, and ofc check out the sergal group here.

halfway done, real life stuff kills any desire to refine partΒ 1 and finish part 2.

Wow, that's a lot of crap to remember. However, my first sergal drawing, I did it with zero references. I still think did pretty good.

Well, I guess in hindsight I came across as a lot arrogant. I'm sorry. This is a great and really well thought out tutorial, btw.

Quite handy, indeed. Is there any places you know of where one could find Sergal anatomy information. Lore, if you will, for people perhaps interested in making a character.
A good example would be the feet; I've noticed most of them similarly odd feet, is this just how they are? I wouldn't know. :3

I was just thinking of trying to draw one of these, i suck as wolf anthro's, are these easier to sketch?
Very helpful by the way

well yes and no.
if you get these general rules in your head they're easy, if not it's pain twisting hard to make something new (as in not copy from a pic).

Thanks, i havent done many drawings yet and what i have done has been sketching a screenshot or photo, i cant make something new out of my mind yet, just comes out all wrong with asymetrical proportions :/
Is sketching existing images good practice before trying to create something new though?

always in any medium, tho if you sketch 10000000000 photos, that doesn't mean you can make 1st own drawing just like that and be awesome.
practice practice.

Very detailed, very thorough, very nice.
ALSO DAMN IT MICK, you made me forget just how much longer and pointy old school sergal snouts are.

oldschool>new school foreva in most cases. :V
in part 2 I'll explain individualization and variations of proportions and fur, etc
But that will take some time to make >.> specially I'm in my exam period.

I'm growing fonder of the head of the new sergal design, as for why I had to dig deep and I found that I find a less pronounced snout to be more believable or some crap like that.
Best wishes for a favorable outcome on your exam.

race dogs have insanely long snouts :V
sergals heads are p much that, only a little bit more pointy.
and thanks.

pinty dogs don't have forheads, just small eye brows that vaguely pop out, much like sergal's.
either way I'll stick oldschool foreva :V
