Description
it's been a while...another small piece which was begun slightly over a year ago and has languished until this past week.
oil, acrylic, latex house paint, wood stain, shellac, spray paint, paint marker and sharpie on canvas.
6" x 6" (15.24cm x 15.24cm)
this piece is FOR SALE, reasonable offers considered.
fyi, my work is NOT to be used as stock or texture or a "resource" for derivative works. thanks.

Super moody. I love it. Almost like standing on an alien planet

Thank you.
In this piece, the separation (or connection...) between "spheres" is beautiful - the light blue, yellow and white and the darker tones below...

This is gorgeous!!!!!!!!! Very fluid. Does that make sense?

the vastness of sky overwhelmed the senses
as the storm which had raged moments before
began to weaken...pulling itself apart, leaving
wide gaps of lesser darkness between the turbulent
mass lower to earth than the stars. the landscape had
not changed, save for the shafts of moonlight that now
faded into existence miles ahead of us and just as far
out of reach...as the wind picked up, the slightest sense
of urgency prompted us to keep moving...a moments
beauty now passing...miles left to tread before sleeping

It's always possible to stare at the best of your work for along time trying to understand what it might be or even just resemble and yet it defies interpretation at the same time as inviting the gaze to linger.

Great work! It looks very organic and old. It's good to see something new from you. I always feel relieved when I manage to finish a painting that's been lying around for a while.

thanks, funny thing is that even though I posted it I decided after the fact I wasn't quite satisfied with it and have been touching it up a bit. there is the danger I may paint over it entirely at some point. it's pretty much already happened with this one... [link]

Sometimes it's difficult to see when a certain piece is 'finished', and I too sometimes end up changing something or painting over the whole thing eventually. I've started to view some paintings as being in constant state of change, and in fact, they might never be completely finished in my eyes. That's what makes them so interesting.

well sometimes a piece can be in a finished state at a particular time, but after a while you may start to look at it and consider what else you might be able to do with it. that's my usual problem.

not surprisingly I subtly reworked this piece a little more, but I'm happier with it now than I've been for the past week.

it does have more of a sense of light piercing the darkness, doesn't it? I think that is what is making me see it as an aberration of sorts.

When i looked at the first time, that was the main impression.
Well... now you say this,my perception is quite modifying.Wondering if ...The darkness might overrun the light. That was your intention?

yin/yang, creation/destruction, it could go either way, everything in a fine balance on the verge of tipping into chaos.
