Ah yeah, I agree. Which is why this system works so great. You can basically drag and drop the pokemon on the menu to whatever order you want, and it also works for switching pokemon mid-battle.
All nintendo ever gave us was the poketch, which didnt update automatically you had to refresh it by going inside a building or going through all the applications.
Luckily this one updates whenever your pokemon gets hurt/healed or gains experience, making it very useful and practical.

My programmer does that all for me. He uses flash I think and the code is actionscript.
