Frostine: "Hello my name Is Frostine"
Frostine: "Soul Eater? I was born of Ice! Who would give you such an idea?!?"

Its Frostine! Mother to Spyro and Flame, Mate to Ignitus. She is very sweet and understanding at most times but is quick to snap when she knows something is wrong (Especially when Cyril expresses his harsh ego personality, something this dragoness just can't stand) Very smart, she knows how to read and judge the expressions of others, like a lie detector.
Her role at the Dragon Temple. The Caretaker, someone to raise and be a Mother figure for the remaining children, they tend to address her as "Ma"
Every time Spyro or Flame show off an act of goodness, Frostine can't help but feel proud of her sons. The dragoness wonders at these times why Ignitus isn't there. Thinking of all the love they shared with each other in the past, She misses the fire guardian dearly.

Why wasn't she in the original story?

Months before the horrible raid. She laid her two children of red and purple in secret from the others. a ploy to raise children of her own as she claimed to be 'sick' All her thoughts of being a mother changed when she noticed the Purple Egg behind her. It just brought great fear to her heart, she sensed a great danger would come as a result.
(in Rebirth it was Ignitus's voice in her mind that brought her back to her senses)
She was so scared that she ran away. somehow she managed to evade all the dangers that came, Gaul's forces, The murderous Terror of the Skies, hiding away in shame. The runaway just couldn't stop blaming her self. too full of shame to show her face to Spyro who she heard was a great symbol of hope, or Ignitus who completely forgotten about her during this time of darkness.
During the brief shattering (destruction of the world as result of The Dark Master) The unaware dragoness stood on a fault line in her hiding, She became trapped in the shaking fissures, unable to escape as her wings and limbs were horribly damaged. Frostine perished within the crust, crushed to death as the world was brought back together by the Legendary Purple Dragon, Spyro.
Frostine almost survived to live in a peaceful world, but karma had caught up to her, there is no haven for cowards.

Thankfully, like many others, she was given a second chance at life.

Notice the resemblance to Spyro; horn curvature, underbelly color, tail-spade, and the same amethyst purple eyes. something to keep in mind when relating characters.
