This is beautiful. I have always loved wheat fields no matter whether under a stormy or blue sky.

This picture definitely made an impact on me. Now judging by the title you may have had something else on your mind, but it makes my heart skip a bit in... fear, perhaps? I'm not entirely sure, it just has this aura around it, like impending doom, a storm rising... and I love it for it.
Oh, and that wheat (is it wheat?) looks like gold

Thank you! This picture was taken in a wheat field in southwestern Oklahoma. Fear wasn't particularly on my mind...maybe something more along the lines of the simplicity of life when faced with death. The closer we approach the end of our days, the more we see and hold the important things in life.

I'm listening to the track RIGHT now and I think this depicts it PERFECTLY. Hans Zimmer would be VERY proud!
I need a tissue now!!

Elysium--is that a nod to Gladiator? Beautiful composition.

I do use photoshop for my post capture work. On this particular shot, I did my typical quick color and light adjustments where necessary. Since I wanted the picture to be taken looking directly into the sun and I wanted the clouds to also be visible in there splendor, I had to do a little bit of an overlay of two exposure settings to show more of the light range.

i really like how the wheat is all bunched... normally with shots like this there is still space between the wheat.

Might be my favorite shot you've taken... just love this... and of course the title gives it all new meaning.

Thanks bro! I've been waiting for almost a year for the wheat to start turning for some sort of shot like this...I guess you could say it is my nod to Gladiator in some respects.
