Description
This is the WWII German Me 109. I painted this in Photoshop and used a 1:18 scale toy model of the Me 109 to base my drawing of the plane. I am not sure the total amount of time involved since I worked on it off and on for a while.Β©Copyright Kyle Wright. Really nice!
The propeller blades look a little small though...

Sweet! I wished I had found something like that when I was younger! A 1:18 fighter plane that size would have been sweet to play with then!

Thanks! I started a B-17 picture, but need to finish the picture out and paint the sky/clouds in. Hopefully, I can do that soon!

I need to do more of these, but they seem to take such a long time to create.

traditional painting? oh I have! I began my art background doing traditional art-especially in pencil drawing. I can paint pretty well with oils and acrylics...I just didn't like the fact that if I lost, sold, damaged or gave a painting away, I wouldn't have a copy. That's why I pretty well switched to digital painting so that I can reproduce the piece as many times as I'd like. This one I actually had printed on canvas. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out! It sure beats the heck out of paying for the paints and canvas, etc. on a continuing basis!!!

This looks like a photograph. Very good work. Did you use a picture as reference for the clouds?
Love this

Yeah-I used several shots as a base reference. I have to admit, the sky is probably the most tedious parts of the whole picture!

Very cool, I like how you captured the motion of the blades. And the clouds.... stunning.

Danke schoen! Thank you! I think out of all my gallery pieces, this is one I'm a little nervous about putting out. Probably, because of the amount of time I spent on it-hoping that it's not sub-par.
