I took this shot last night. The thunderstorm in the background was somewhat hidden up until the sunset and then it absolutely demanded to be seen.I was a bit concerned about the foreground not showing up, since the light was fleeting fast. The old house did show up, but it's a little grainy. I have a couple of other shots at different settings, so I might try to rework it...

nice shot, i like the setting with the old house!
did you use a flash, or why is the foreground brighter? usually i say flashes don't fit in landscape photography, but here(if it is one) it's nice!

This one is an HDR of sorts...The house sits on a little crest of a hill, so the light somewhat dissipated while the sun was setting. The west side of the house was illuminated. The lower left corner is dark from the added vignette. I used the two exposures to try and enhance what was already there. I'm a little disappointed on the quality of the foreground though...

This is fantastic - I like the fact that the house doesn't dominate - it should be the clouds and sky that do. Well done

Well I like it. It says something too me... Im not completely sure what yet though. Something about the home being in darkness while the cloud in the distance is light... its almost spiritual in a sense.
