The Spider Queen made a noise not unlike a hum as she slapped on a final layer of webbing, sealing the wolf in her silk cocoon. When Amaterasu had challenged her in her lair deep within the ruins she called home, it had been an open question as to whether vines or silk would carry the day. However, it had turned out that being a goddess, while granting her powers lesser beings could only dream of, did not grant the wolf immunity from the spider's strength-sapping poison. Indeed, once the powerful demon had worked to exploit her advantage, her opponent had fallen astonishingly quickly, unable to move so much as an eyelid. Her prey as helpless as a newborn pup, the Spider Queen had quickly acted to make sure her advantage remained permanent.

Demonic spider silk was far more potent than that of ordinary wall-crawlers, composed of a mix of strong and sticky fibers that together were sixteen times stronger than even the best manmade steel. Combined with its complete unwillingness to ever let go of anything it had attached to, the material made an ideal binding for the goddess. With her paws tucked against her body, her tail carefully wrapped and set against her legs, and several layers of silk over her mouth and around her muzzle, even when Amaterasu recovered from the poison she would be as mute and helpless as she was now. The Spider Queen had debated simply eating the wolf, dogs being a rare and tasty treat, but something told her to wait. There were certainly other uses for a goddess bound in silk.
