Why can't you just be grateful that someone took the time to look at your work and add it to their Favorites? They don't owe you a comment; there's no requirements or obligations to viewing artwork on this website.Maybe that person just likes to collect good art to look at? Or, maybe that person is just a mindless "fave whore" drone. Either way, who cares? Be the bigger person

That's basically what the whole "Comment before Fav" bullshit is to me. Sure, if the piece itself actually is worthy of a comment, I'll comment on it (and if the piece is really good, then it gets a better comment on why I like it and such), but come on, not everyone's gonna bow-down over your damn generic-sparkly-wolf-dragon-inflatable-winged-fox-with-glasses. Besides, real art galleries don't have a commenting system... *GASP*

What pisses me off is not when someone faves without commenting. It's when a person faves without looking at the picture!

I'm just saying this out of confusion, but how would you know if someone didn't look at the picture? I don't know of anyone who does that.

Of course I can't know if someone hasn't looked at the picture. I'm just measuring things from myself. I usally take a long time when I'm looking at a picture. I look at every little detail and I think about all the things in the picture that I think is well made, creative and the things that I like with the picture. And that doesn't take 2 seconds. I don't think it's possible to really 'see' a picture in just a few seconds.

DA needs to make a button that does not allow people to fav the picture until they comment it. That'll work for all of us.

DA needs to make a button that checks to see if people actually read and understand something before they favorite it and leave a comment.
That'll work for all of us who would rather avoid the experience of reading hastily made comments from people who are too busy making absolutely sure that they leave an arbitrary comment on each and every stamp they favorite when they don't even bother to fully read it in the first place.

I'm so sick of these people who have this really cool deviation and I look at it and go, "This is too awesome to pass up! I'm adding this to my favorites."
But then I see the dreaded "If you fave you need to comment". I'll be honest that turns me off from adding it but I add it without commenting just to spite them. Childish I know but I can't help it.
A favorite is just as good as a darn comment. When will people learn that?
