Description
Vagaras is a primitive planet about ¾’s the size of earth, which is currently in the midst of an ice age. The biota is very similar to that of Earth’s in an extreme case of convergent evolution, with many analogues of fish, amphibian, reptiles, birds, and mammals. The planet has four continents, with many smaller Islands, though most of life occurs around it’s equator. A rarity on a galactic scale the harsh conditions of the planet have seeming created ten distant sapient species in order to coup with the harsh environment. Even more rare is that all ten species are aware of one another and have formed a relatively peaceful Iron Age society amongst all its peoples. Though they have names for all their species they collectively refer to themselves as Vagarasi.

Zee
The avian Zee were the next sophonts to join the Vagarasi. Flying birds about the size of canary, they are the smallest of the sapients. Zee have hooked beaks and long tongues to aid their claws in manipulation. They are hyper omnivores eating seeds, fruits, nectar, arthropods, gastropods. They are also very adept a mimicking sound, resulting in music being one of their most favorite forms of artistic expression. They were also able to master agriculture by raising arthropods and gastropods in the hollows of tree, and by planting the seeds of the fruit and flowers they feed on, while using their small size to help pollinate. Climate change cause by the Ice Age however eventually forced them to migrate away from the forests where they evolved, which lead them into contact with the Rifling/Cerganos civilization. There they found useful niche their help the Cerganos tend to their garden, picking parasites off the other sapients and their livestock, and most notably using their flight and mimicry abilities to serve as a long-distance communication system. Their presence also pushed forward a new philosophy of meeting new people in different forms.
