Oberon: A being not of Vagaras, but where it found its soul.

    The being known as Oberon was originally known simply as Observation Probe 6. A set of six probes sent to Vagaras. These probes were built by the Chialiong and had one mission to explore, record, and report. They come equipped with a variety of technology, including anti-gravity lifts for limited flight, a variety of miniature drones for land, sea, and sky observation, and a printer matrix to replicate more drones and for minor self-repairs. Their power source is a diamond-nanite, element zero battery capable of running for over 100000 years. Their quantum blue box processor gives them access to their creator’s history as well as the artificial intelligence of a ten-year-old. When they were finished, they would return to their shuttle and head back to the Chialiong’s Planet.

    Observation Probe 6 was part of the group set for the planet Vagaras. For the first thirty years on the planet, it fulfilled its goal, cataloguing weather patterns, geography, biology, and any life that showed promise. By some unlikely chance of fate however Observation probe 6 got caught in a rockslide. Though the probes energy shielding prevented it from becoming too seriously damaged it couldn’t shift the rocks the probes, unfortunately the probe was not built for heavy lifting. It’s only opening to the world was just a small hole it could look out of. It sent a distress signal to the other probes for, they came but even together they couldn’t move the rocks. Probe 6 did the only thing it could, give them a copy of the data it collected to finish their mission. The other probes moved on and eventually left planet.

    Probe 6 was stuck. It devoted most of its power primarily to reviewing the data it collected and cross referencing it with the data from Chialiong society. It did this for over 4,000 years. Eventually its references became what if scenarios, start asking itself questions about itself, life, the universe, existence. Its intelligence exceeded its own programming and desired to learn more, it activated one of its land drones, the ports to its drone docking station were blocked so it had to carve it’s self out through the main body. The land drone could make it through the small hole but wasn’t able to travel far from the rock pile. Through the drone it continued its study of life on the planet (mostly arthropods and moss), until one day again through luck it heard new yet familiar voices.

    Three mammalian creatures walked by the pile, two of them were of the same species and walked on t heir knuckled while the third was a full quadruped with appendages on their heads. He saw the beings before all those millennia ago but at that time they seem merely to animals of approve average intelligence. And now they were chatting to each other like friends, despite the knuckle walkers having previously preyed upon the hand-ears. This was a once in while chance it had to take. Through its drone it deciphered their language and got their attention. While the knuckle-walkers now known to it as Riflings started moving the rocks, the ear-hand now known to it as Cerganos ran back to the village to get more help. Rock by rock the probe was excavated. In after merely a day and half of excavating the probe felt sunlight on its back for the first time in millennia. When the native asked him who he was, he tried to say Observation Probe 6, but his damaged speaker could only say, “Ob-er----on ----- - “, and the name stuck.

    Still so very damaged the natives carried him back to their village were others became in awe of him, they were never a religious people so they didn’t know what to think. Oberon Request a hut in order to heal himself and they granted him one. For many days flying disks entered and exited the hut carrying small rocks. Oberon was using the minerals from these rocks along with his printer matrix to make self-repairs. It took months but he eventually emerged and greeted his saviors. To simply his existence he merely told the residence he was being beyond the stars who came to this planet to observe but got caught between the rocks.

    The first thing he notice was that the Cerganos and the riflings were not the only inhabitants of the village, the Zee were yet another creature he studied that manage to break into the realm of self-awareness. But more to the point he saw the diminishing orchids of the Cerganos main food sources and he knew that in less than a century the orchid would be completely dead. It was Oberon who suggested the migration scans from years ago showed that the seaweed would nourish the Cerganos, he also suggested to takes the seeds of their various crops and plant them on warmer land.

    When they got to the coast and settled it, it was then Oberon reveal many information from his creator civilization. He revealed the secrets boat-building, fishing, rudimentary metallurgy, even mathematics. When the land people meet the Nolpin and the Augrill he helped decipher their language to create a more unified civilization. He helped translate the Morphus language as well and convinced them to branch out from their isolated continent. His hunch about the Solient also proved true when he convinced the people to start colonizing the southern continent. Oberon was able to translate the low frequency sounds of the Tantrat and help them communicate through writing. It led the other sapients to the discovery of the Jossel. Oberon and helped selectively breed to the Ghoulen to help them achieve sapience.

    For almost 9000 years it managed to create a unified civilization of sapients so vastly different from one another. However even with the minor industrialization it managed to create, it knew the world was still cooling down. In order to save the people it had come to love so much, Oberon had to consider the option it had been holding back on for so long. Oberon built a transmitter to send a message to the Chialiong.
