Description

The Nandidi are from the planet Deken. Though they may superficially resemble flightless birds, the Nandini have more in common with arthropods and echinoderms. A rarity among sapient species the Nandidi have three heads stalked on very flexible necks, each equipped with three eyes. For manipulation their lips on each head have evolved twelve fingers, (eight on the top jaw and four on the bottom jaw), giving them some of the best dexterity of any sapient species. The heads don’t express separate thoughts and personalities, because their single brain is located within its body, Nandidi can survive decapitation and even have their heads replace with prosthetics. As bizarre as they may appear with their three heads, they actually evolved from an ancestor that had had five heads, two of the heads became legs and even retain vestigial eyes capable of detecting light.
The Nandidi have progress to a space faring society, having arrived on the galactic scene a few years after the Reglib war. Their species being so different from many other sapients has sparked a booming interest in biology for the Nandidi people with many taking to fields such medicine, botany, and zoology. Not to say the Nandidi can’t also be skilled warriors, though lacking in strength and durability, they make up for it in speed, flexibility, and their ability to see in all directions.
