I inked and colored my rendition of the spiked back xenomorph from Aliens: Armageddon

The Weland Yutani research station Capella was conducting illegal experimention on the Xenomorph XX121 species, resulting in a new strain of the creatures with various weaponized castes. As history has shown us, the species will not be contained. The creatures overtook the station, and the thousand + crew were killed. The destruction caused by the xenomorphs running amok on the Capella eventually took its toll, and the station began to break up. Large chunks of the station rained down on the planet it orbited, and much to the horror of the world's population, most of the xenomorph bioweapons survived reentry by hitching a ride on the debris. The planet was quickly overtaken by the new, weaponized castes.

One of the the new castes was the Spikebacked Xenomorph. This creature had a large, acid filled growth on its back. It is believed that the creature was created by experimenting on the caste known as Boilers first encountered on LV-426. Unlike the boilers, who detonate in an acid shower, the spikebacks instead use the explosive pressure to launch large spikes at enemies with shocking accuracy. . There are also some traits such as tusks, its muscular large size, and coloration that suggest that the Spikeback may also be derived from the the Area-52 Strain Predalien. It seems that these two castes in two different strains may have been hybridized to create this beast. The Spikeback is very large, the smallest ones encountered seem roughly the size of a terrestrial bear, while the largest are comparable in size to an elephant.
