Description
so this is one of those slightly silly pictures I started drawing seriously and didn't end that way. I started noticing this almost quizzical face for a being that doesn't have one. LOL so my roomie says he looks like he's lecturing someone and I think he's just gotten very confused and is going 'um.. wait one moment here...'Related content

This one made me chuckle.
Also thanks for the quick hand drawing advice. A tutorial in your style would be cool too!

easiest way I know is to basicly draw a kind of square, that is your palm, then add circles where the knuckles are and draw out lines (with the 'breaks' for digits) it's easier to show than explain, if I get a chance to, I can draw up the way I draw hands and scan it in tonight.

what kind of paper do you use?
I just use notebook paper and Jess let me borrow one of her sketchbooks so I use that on occasion.

Its a kind of heavy duty sketch paper, you can color it with water colors and it will keep the paper from warping.
I only draw on a single sheet and scan it with computer printer paper. Scanners are nice things. If I draw larger than a single 8x10 piece of paper I get it all together, go down to like Staples/Office depot/Kinkos and use one of their bigger copy machines to shrink it down or scan to cd if they have that available.

blah I wish I had a camera! lol. I have a digital cam that just takes photos, and I plan on doing a little photoshoping once I get my computer working (right now, borrowing my roomie's Mac, and it's a nice system, but doesn't have my stuff on it! Let alone when I pull out her photoshop the computer slows down and refuses to work half the time. I had to rescan the pictures like three times because the photoshop crashed) I can do a little photoshopping and adding a few details.. making shadows deeper and maybe putting eyes in them..

Yea I have a Kodak Play Camera. It's water proof, shock proof and dust proof so I have lots of fun with it.
I don't have photoshop actually... do you know where/how I can download it?

Know the feeling. But often you can find free downloads of things. older versons of photoshop perhaps.. that sort of thing. might even try the trading on craig's list. that you are looking for a copy of this program. Perhaps offer one in trade that you aren't using anymore.

I love how you give a faceless creature emotion using the shading; something I'm trying and failing to do myself

Overall it's more I find a matter of doing it like they do with the old superheros. Like Spiderman. They get LOADS of emotion in the way the do the shape of the eye pieces and the bits of shading here and there on the mask. So drawing slenderman is like harkening back to drawing spidy for my mom.
