Un gran Arctodus no tiene más opción que escapar antes de ser pisoteado por un macho mamut colombino en estado de musth.
Arctodus fue el depredador más grande de América del norte durante el Pleistoceno, con individuos de hasta 1,8 metros de alto parado en 4 patas, y aunque por mucho tiempo se consideró un superdepredador actualmente se piensa que tuvo un estilo de vida similar al del oso grizzly moderno, tanto cazando presas grandes como alimentándose de vegetación y quitándole alimento a otros animales. No obstante ni el depredador más grande tiene oportunidad contra un herbívoro enojado de 10 toneladas y 4 metros de alto, que se encuentra en un estado de agresividad bastante alto.

Arctodus was the largest predator in North America during the Pleistocene, with individuals up to 1.8 meters tall standing on all fours, and although it was considered a super predator for a long time, it is currently thought that it had a lifestyle similar to that of the modern grizzly bear, both hunting large prey and feeding on vegetation and taking food from other animals. Yet not even the largest predator has a chance against an angry, 10-ton, 4-meter tall herbivore, which is in a fairly high state of aggressiveness.
Drawing based on lions, hyenas, leopards and basically all natural predators (and even other animals, including other elephants) who prefer to retreat when the elephants are in musth, where they become extremely dangerous.
