Today was a long day drawing, after the Einosaurus I made this huge creature; Gigantopithecus blacki
This was a huge species of ape that inhabited Asia during the Pleistocene. This was a relative of the current orangutans, only of much larger dimensions, with estimates of 270 kilograms on average up to 600 kilograms. Estimates made on the basis of modern orangutans, since only fragmentary remains of the jaw and teeth are known from Gigantopithecus, however it is sufficient material for DNA analysis.

Esta fue una enorme especie de simio que habitó Asia durante el pleistoceno. Este fue un pariente de los actuales orangutanes, solo que de dimensiones mucho mayores, con estimaciones de 270 kilogramos como promedio hasta los 600 kilogramos. Estimaciones hechas a base de los orangutanes modernos, ya que de Gigantopithecus solo se conocen restos fragmentarios de la mandibula y dentales, no obstante es material suficente para realizar analisis de ADN.
