Description
The 2002 film "Ice Age" is one of the greatest exponents of prehistory for the general public, revealing a large number of prehistoric creatures. However in this film (and basically the rest of the saga) most of the animals did not even coexist (especially after the second film) nor were they contemporary, but it does not have to be exact after all it is not a documentary. However, as a lover of this film (and the second part as well) I decided to illustrate most of the species represented in the film, only taking into account the creatures that actually inhabited at the time and place where the plot takes place: North America during the late Pleistocene, specifically at some point in Montana, Alberta and British Columbia (this is known thanks to the presence of the 2 large glaciers through which animals migrate), correcting species that do not belong to time or place by species that did exist in that period and location. Outside of the 3 protagonists, Manny (Mammuthus primigenius), Sid (Nothrotheriops) and Diego (Smilodon fatalis) the rest of the animals in both films were not from North America and in many cases from the Pleistocene either.

La película del 2001 titulada "La era de hielo" es de los mayores exponentes de la prehistoria para el público general, dando a conocer una gran cantidad de criaturas prehistorias. Sin embargo en esta película (y básicamente el resto de la saga) la mayoría de los animales ni siquiera coexistieron (sobretodo después de la segunda película) ni fueron contemporáneos, pero no tiene porque ser exacta después de todo no es un documental. Sin embargo como amante de esta cinta (y la segunda parte también) decidí ilustrar la mayoría de las especies representadas en la película, solo que tomando en cuenta las criaturas que realmente habitaron en el momento y lugar donde se desarrolla la trama: América del norte durante finales del pleistoceno, concretamente en algún punto de Montana, Alberta y Columbia británica (esto se sabe gracias a la presencia de los 2 grandes glaciares por donde los animales migran), corrigiendo a las especies que no pertenecen ni al tiempo ni al lugar por especies que si existieron en ese periodo y ubicación. Fuera de los 3 protagonistas, Manny (Mammuthus primigenius), Sid (Nothrotheriops) y Diego (Smilodon fatalis) el resto de los animales en ambas películas no fueron ni de norteamerica y en muchos casos del pleistoceno tampoco.
