It would be a brilliant twist. Especially since canon Twi isn't exactly that stable in the mental health department (concluding that stopping time itself is the only way to stop an unspecified disaster is not one that a healthy mind makes).
Unfortunately unless Sunset Shimmer turns out to be the human Twilight counterpart (I hope not), it ain't gonna happen. Can't make your main character's lookalike be evil. That might impact toy sales.
