Steam is very 'huge' and 'visible' when it's cold.

Off the top or my head I don't know whether he will be doing or not. He might call in at some point if Ian and his team need to do any maintenance but whether he will haul trains I cannot say. Next time I am down I will ask and see what is said. It would be nice if he does come back for weekend or two.
Steam in the winter just sets the scene for me. I love it. I have been lucky to take part in several events that were held in the colder months and we've had frost or snow. Something a little magical about it all. Mind you it isn't any fun lighting them up and getting them ready when it is winter time!

By now there is no information about that. I didn't remember when it was announced last year.
I thought I could come in the NRM last week, but had completely no time, only 2 hours in London.

FS is really magnificent engine. There is something special that I can't explain.

Oh indeed and a think a big part of that is just its history of it from being built as an A1, being at the Wembley show alongside the GWR Castle class, being the first engine to run none stop from London to Edinburgh with a corridor tender, hitting 100mph and the first loco to be authenticated doing it, being one of the last A1s to be altered into an A3 class, being the only survivor, traveling across America, traveled across Australia making it the only loco to have travelled and worked in three continents, also break a record in Australia for the longest none stop run made by a steam loco. I think it is also the only locomotive to circumnavigate the world by ship too... But would have to double check that claim.
It has a lot of history to it. To me it looks great and sounds great too. I know there are a few who are bored of it over here, same as Tornado but it still has a presence to it and long may it continue.
