I also love the idea of carrying a watch like that! I have a pocket watch collection and I never thought I might be able to wear them to a Ren faire!
...and you know it's a good costume when you can notice a new detail every time you look at it.

I'm a detail freak, so I tend to sneak in little things here and there in my garb just for that reason. Every week I wore that gown it would end up with a new layer of beadwork or something. I still have more beading to do on it too
