Description So Inception is one of my all-time favorite movies (it’s what got me into Chris Nolan stuff in the first place), and I figured it was high time I make some proper fanart for it.  I knew from the get-go that I wanted to do something with Dom and Mal, considering their relationship is the crux of the story, but I was having trouble coming up with a unique composition–until I thought of a deck of cards and pulled inspiration from those for a symbolic piece…

I loved this when I saw this on Tumblr!!! This is such a great visual idea and I'm so happy you love Christopher Nolan! I love his work but I tend to like insane and quirky characters from the crazy minds of the Coen bros a lot too! They are probably my biggest influence with writing small town crazy peeps! LOL
'O Brother, Where Art Thou' is one of my all time favorite films! Great characters!

Thank you!  I really, REALLY want to see 'Dunkirk,' but alas, I was too busy when it was out and it's no longer in theaters.   Waiting for it to come out on DVD/Blu-ray is going to be painful...

I love Chris Nolan's stuff mainly because of all the plot twists and mind-bendy things he does within his stories.

I've only seen their take on 'True Grit,' but my sister saw 'Hail, Caesar!' and really liked it!  I think my second biggest influence would have to be J.J. Abrams.  His dialogue and characters are always stellar!

I love the relationship between Dom and Mal in this relationship, it's so beautiful and yet so tragic and destructive. I love the way you've used the film's dream like qualities to show the loop side of dreams and reality, memories, consciousness and regret. A very dramatic piece!

I really like the theme of Mal (or Projection Mal) hunting down Dom in the dreamworld as a manifestation of his guilt (I told my sister that this movie had more psychology in it than I realized!).  The first time I saw the movie I was mainly focusing on the visuals and not so much the story.  The second time around I paid attention to the story and was blown away by the plot twist!

Thank you!  As I said before, I love making symbolic pieces!

Good job! before I read the title I saw the top and new exactly what it was. Sadly, I have yet to watch the "whole" film, but it is most definitely on my to do list!  Awsome job on the lighting/line work, looks amazing!

Thank you!  I've been experimenting with different coloring techniques lately, namely scanning in my pencil sketches and coloring them in while flipping the lines layer to "overlay."  It gives them a nice organic feel.

It's SO good (but I'm biased, sooo... ).  You'll probably have to rewatch it from the beginning for things to make sense though; before I saw it my parents had flipped to it on the TV near the end and I had no idea what was going on. lol

It's looking "SICK!" the scratchiness of hand drawn lines really works well with that method.

Well... it's a Nolan film after all... how could it not be good? lol  Yeah I know, trying to catch up on a story is not a good way to go; best to start from the beginning. (especially when it's as complected as that plot line.)

Thank you! lol Yeah, I can see how it can be a frustrating watch.  First time I saw it I was so confused, but after I started watching it a few more times something new jumped out at me each time that I hadn't understood before.

Maybe I should watch it again, now that I know what's going on better. Like the Prestige... that movie is still frustrating me >:0

I watched The Prestige for the second time a week after I first saw it because my roommate hadn't seen it, and it started to make more sense but I'm still really confused about the device Tesla made for Angier and the implications it had... >.<
