Made a different render today. And thought why not share it here as my first deviation. The terrain was made of a nurbs surface with a water plane on top. The sailboat was a simple polymesh i made earlier. My main focus here was to try generating the color variations in blender internal only from a ramp diffuse shader. There where no textures used. Everything seen is calculated from surface normals.
