Attempt at drawing backgrounds, I was happy with everything until I colored, and what didn't get smeared in the process of coloring, my new scanner mauled.

The characters are Julian (the T-rex) and Wealtheow (that's a chemical burn on her cheek btw). Julian is a favorite character of mine who routinely gets a yearly rehaul, but I'm settled on his design. He is a t-rex, he finally looks like a t-rex, and I'm happy with him.

I didn't want him to look like a generic carnosaur with the "t-rex" label just slapped on, and spent years tweaking his design; wanting something that both looked like a t-rex but looked friendly and approachable, without looking pathetic. In the end, I realize do I love the idea of a very sweet guy with a mouthful of serrated teeth who unintentionally and routinely frightens the people he's trying to help. He does have very pretty blue eyes behind that hoody of his.

BTW Julian isn't cold blooded. He's warmblooded (yadda yadda fossilized coprolites of carnosaurs contained fossilized traces of muscle tissues, meaning a very fast and ineffective digestive track, like birds and mammals yadda yadda yadda)...

He's one of those people who is always cold. Always.
