Description Meet Dimitri Graham, a baryonyx-deinonychus hybrid, a deinonyx.

Also a social experiment character I made...

He's a rather unusual character, loves sports, dresses in layers, has difficulty trying to balance his half female, half male oriented brain, rather dislikes the color yellow.

Much confusion, huh.

Those trainers are so cool...thinking up a practical shoe design for claws is an absolute fucking nightmare, great job. The split toe thing is ooh!

I love such in-depth character development. I love that he is not 'normal.' Too many people make their characters cookie-cutter perfect. I think they either do this to orient some sort of order in their creation when they themselves lack it....or more likely, they are afraid of the controversial because of culturally enforced parameters. Bravo. I am even more curious of him now, just to see what else you have come up with. And does he indeed have breasts that he is binding with the material over his chest? Are his imbalances physical as well as mental and emotional?

He's a he, thinking he's half-he, half-she, or is Dimitri an hermaphrodite or pseudo-hermaphrodite?

He's a balanced hermaphrodite (having a balance of both genders, not one geninunely taking over his body).

He identifies as male however.

*nods* hence the strapping around his chest, I suppose?

Pretty much, it's actually multipurpose.

Boobs are bad to have if you happen to play a lot of sports, like Dim. He hid them in highschool because he wasn't sure what his male teammates would think of it (he could be mocked or even lose his spot on the team), and the straps since then have become a security blanket.

Also people love to make comments that he's "small" so he finds it's just easier to hide them then get them enlarged. He hates the attention he gets because of them. But he doesn't hate having them, that's why they're still there.

I see...I wonder how his/her hormones and body works, too. If everything is functional or not

They ebb and flow (he has only one ovary and one teste). One month he'll be more boyish, another he'll be slightly more feminine.

I based this on a rumor I heard that women who have only one functioning ovary menstruate every other month opposed to every month, because when there's two ovaries, they take turns.

Currently, he's infertile as a male. His body still produces testerone, but since his teste is internal, his own body heat lowers his sperm count.

Mmmh..alternatively-driven then. He's fertile as a female, though? And is his sperm count just low, or his sperm is abnormal too?

Sperm cells are normal, just low. Heat actually kills them that's why in most warm blooded animals the testes are located on the outside of the body.

I knew that I guess that when he's under the effects of oestrogens during his female cycle, his testes go on standby.
Is he actually able to carry a pregnancy to term without complications for him and/or the baby(ies)?

He can carry a baby without complications, barring outside influences.

He has a birth canal, however, his hips, though wider than a male's hips, are still too narrow to allow passage for a baby. Any child would have to be a C-section baby. Natural birth would be problematic for him and the baby.

Yep yep. I think even during pregnancy certain hormones shut down and go on standstill. So he'll probably be super, ultra feminine during any pregnancies since male hormones will be lacking.

*chuckles at the last paragraph* he'll be SuperPregnantHerm, defender of the expecting hermaprodites?

half female, half male oriented brainWhat does it mean?

LapisBufonis In reply to felix-leg [2008-10-04 13:44:34 +0000 UTC]

Female and male brains are labels. They are not exclusively found in their gender. There are many, many men who have female brains (both straight and gay men) and many many females who have male brains (both straight and lesbians). The labels are are just there because a lot of one label happens to be of that gender. And then there's everything in between.

Dimitri happens to have both the capabilities of a stereotypical male mind and stereotypical female mind.

In some ways he thinks like a female, and in some ways he can think like a male.

For instance, he can multitask, not to degree of someone with a female brain, but also read expressions better than most males. Like a male, he is blunter in his language, and uses fewer adjectives. Naturally he is more capable when it comes to mathametics (this is not being sexist as the top algerbra scores were female, and I'm really good at math myself), but it just comes quickerto guys.
