I don't know which deserves the greater compliment, the textures or the lighting. I go with the lighting. The textures you could find just about anywhere, but this lighting is excellent.
The highlights...is that part of the underlying gradient?...or are they added separately? Very nice either way.

Thanks for the comment. The lighting is part of the underlying gradient. It's on the two bottom layers, before I added two texture layers and a mask. I had to fiddle with the density and transfer functions to get it where I wanted it.

Oh it definintely looks like polished stone. FOr a stone to be this smooth yet so intricate, I image a monk hand carving and polishing it as his life's work - a tribute to God in stone - lovingly created over the decades.
