Yes, they're made with a fractal program called Ultra Fractal.
Thanks for taking a look!

Subdued... Interesting choice for title. I guess you are talking about the pastels.. Because other than that, this is anything but.... subdued.

It looks like something between the inside of a conch shell and pearls. It makes me think of royalty and mermaids.

Hmmm, some obscure piece of hair itemry of a well-off lady from the legendary history of the future, worn, perhaps, only to the grandest social occasions

Well, it's either something in your style that inspires them, or the knowledge that this kitty-kat loves my particular brand of cream (and yes, I realise exactly how awful that could sound, if taken the wrong way )

ooooo, aaaaah! This is so silky it's touchable. Wonderful shapes and subtle textures, and I agree with Chris's comments above.

Thanks very much for the generous comment, Panny!
As for the spiral's edges: I guess when I added the underlying spiral, I should have multiplied rather than lightened, huh?

How did you get the marble effect in the background?

If you're finding the learning curve to be rather steep, there's a good reason for it: UF has a rather steep learning curve. The people who are any good at the program, who have developed a style and know the tricks, are those who have put a great deal of time and effort into experimenting, playing and figuring things out. Hours and hours and hours, over many months or years. Many of those people, once they've got a handle on the program, go on to take Janet Parke's classes to learn even more. There simply is no substitute for the time invested in learning UF.

These gnarl shapes are from Worley Textures in reb5.ucl in Ultra Fractal 5.01 but you can get the same effect from just about any Gnarl formula with some playing and zooming.

Yeah, Marty Robbins has nothing to fear from me !
This is really nice Kat, silky smooth & with just a touch of the sensual & those spirals with their gorgeous background textures are beautiful.
A really sweet pic !
