I love the inner fire to the petals. A really detailled intricate fractal with a great feeling of depth.

Love the textures in this, especially in the lower part.

It wouldn't hurt to crop away some of the top, all the action is happening in the bottom part of the image.

Thanks for the comment and the I appreciate them very much!

You know, I had it cropped fairly tightly at first, but when I zoomed back out to look at it again, I decided I like the flow of the curved lines. They echo the shape of the main image and I thought that the emptier space was a nice relief from all that busy-ness in the lower part. I also thought that the upper area balanced the more detailed lower part.

Maybe I was wrong...

>>Maybe I was wrong...

Not at all, it's never that cut & dry. I prefer my own fractals more tightly cropped - but you are right, it's good also to give an image room to breathe!

I've had another look - and it might just be I could see all the image at once full size on my monitor, so I had to scroll up-and-down. That means while I'm looking at the top of the image I cannot see the bottom (so I cannot see whether it balances), and while I'm looking at the bottom I cannot see the top . . .

So, just to check I briefly took a copy and re-sized it to fit nicely on my screen (OK I deleted afterwards, don't want to keep copies without permission!). No problem, the image works fine of course . . . I think I would personally still crop that top part, to make it square, but I'll shut up now because you are right it's not necessary

It's a great fractal with a cool texture whatever size and shape!

Thanks for looking at it more closely. I rendered a version of this flipped on its side, too, with the busy part to the left, but I thought it looked too predictable, so I rerendered it this way. Now you've got me thinking about making it square just to see if you may be right.

I like discussing images this way and will never take offense. Please feel free to share any opinion you may have. As you know, it's always about personal preference and each of us sees things a bit differently; it's nice to have another take on what I post. Thanks.

BTW...I don't mind if people upload my images to their computers! You have blanket permission from me to do so any time you wish.

Couldn't you just use your photoediting prog to rotate the image?

Ya think?! ............

The one on its side has a slightly different zoom and I did it while I was in UF. Of course I could crop, rotate, etc., in an editing program, but I actually like this just the way it is. I might go in and make it square just to see what it looks like, but the one in my gallery will be this one.
