Thanks. The colors came out pretty well, huh? I'm glad you like the latest version of my favorite fractal formula...especially since there'll more versions in the future.

speaking of stormy weather
it reminds me of acid rain
and it doesnt remind me of Julia

Thanks for looking at this one. I like your comment about acid rain....I never thought of that. So this one doesn't look like all my other spirals? It's the same formula as the other Julia spirals, but it's all in how you color it. It can look very different.

yeah i know, and i know but the other Julia ones at least slightly resemble each other
but this is..........very diffferent

Hmm...that link doesn't work. Try this one [link] and if it doesn't work, just go to my gallery and look at the image.

Part of the reason for that is that the type of formula this is has two sections: the inside and the outside. In most of my other Julias, I colored both parts and gave them lots of details. In this one, I only colored one part. If you look at the inside part of the spiral, you can see where it gets lighter in the middle of the line running down the center...it's a lighter green. Then if you look at Julia in White Satin [link] I colored that same part very dark. If you can see that part of the images, you'll be able to see that they really are the same formula, just with different details and colors.

Jpeg would be nice, I wanna see how it looks as a wallpaper Like I said before, I dont really use fractal art as wallpaper, very rarely and if I do, it'd be my own lol but this one that you made, excellent, worthy enough to be next to mine But of course!

Hmmm I normally don't do this but I'm gonna save this picture for wallpaper purposes for my computer only and only to see how it looks on my screen This is a good fractal indeed. Keep making more.

LaPurr In reply to DigitalSmear [2006-06-13 06:33:37 +0000 UTC]

I've never had a problem with people using my images as wallpaper. I like it, as a matter of fact. The first site I uploaded my images to was Caedes, where it was expected that people would use the images exactly for that purpose. It's how the success of an image was measured: how many people downloaded your images. I got used to it and the idea that my images were all over the place. The problem was that other people were ripping our images and posting them on various sites all over the net. I had to readjust my attitude when I came here and get used to the idea that all people do is look and go away.

So...please use it and look at it. I love the idea that anyone likes what I make to the point that they want to see it on their desktop.

Thanks for the compliment and for the

Yeah, you're being pretty funny...I like it when people get playful and show more than just saying 'nice image' when they post a comment. This is the only way we all have to get to know anything about each other on this site. So it's nice to see you being funny.

Thanks, Lauren, I like this one...and it's my first use of masking, too. I read my first UF tutorial: eight pages of very useful information. Now I need to play and learn to UNDERSTAND just what the heck I did.
That's the hard part.

Very cool fractal image! The large globe in the foreground looks like a setting sun with some sort of strange creatures silhouetted as they walk by.

Thanks. I like the way your mind works..I never really thought of those shapes as silhouettes, but it's perfect imagery.

BTW...I used masking for the first time in this one. I pulled out an old image and played around with it. The masking is simplistic, but it'll get better and more sophisticated as time goes by. Baby steps.
