Description
This photograph was shot a couple of weeks back. This morning firemen finally got a huge fire threatening eastern suburbs under control - 16,ooo hectars of land was already lost. The smoke from that fire is what created the thick, orange blanket of fog you see laying over the city. Though I didn't care much for the smell, the smoke gave the light an extra warm tone this morning.________________________________________

Truly a splendid capture right here, full of integrity & class. Not only have you nailed a sheer brilliant composition, but the vividness of the photo, the colours, & the scene really adds to it, even with all the complicated layers of elements, they all seemingly draw a great perspective & composition. & to top it all off your use of the border & where it lights & fades even causes your eyes to focus on the image, something that requires skill is a good use of a border, & you pulled it off in style.
Furthermore i would say, everything from the varied rippled amongst the water, to the silhouettes of the ducks amongst the vibrant lake, & to the half dark, & yet glowing tree's, & then, a magnificent view of Perth, the capture of lighting as it hits the buildings, & the way you have spaced everything out truly makes this a powerful scene, truly photography. The bench almost centre of the image seems to draw a focus point, as not so your eyes wander aimlessly, you show great skill in knowing how to setup the view of your images, i truly applaud that.
The sky gradient is warm like the furious bushfire, & yet, soothing, like a peaceful rest. There is truly nothing i can really critique in this image, even the placement of your title text & signature dont distract your eyes, it just all fits in, beautiful work. You have done a very good job, & although it was a while ago now, you definitely deserved the Daily Deviation feature, this is a piece of artwork indeed, you have every right to call this master photography. Keep up the great work!!

ohhh, I remember this day. It was horrible- everything was orange. I love the way you have made use of that strange lighting, and also the way you have taken this from a location other than 'smack in the middle of the foreshore'. That shows a lot of originality

The all too familiar Bush Fire Haze. The worst part is Perth's remoteness, noone else in the country cares!
