Description
This photograph was shot a couple of weeks back. This morning firemen finally got a huge fire threatening eastern suburbs under control - 16,ooo hectars of land was already lost. The smoke from that fire is what created the thick, orange blanket of fog you see laying over the city. Though I didn't care much for the smell, the smoke gave the light an extra warm tone this morning.________________________________________

Man, you got it all so right. The semi-silhouetted parts there is soooo nice, perfectly caught. Really like it. Plus the amazing contrast dude, awesome.

What a beautiful portrait of Perth. Yeah, we got smoke like that too, in South Australia ... this is a stunning shot, congrats on the feature!

wow, perth got 3000 views. Im from Perth and find it pretty unimpressive for the most part, which is why i left it. I actually flew in for a visit the day of those fires, and had to put up with the smell and smoke until they were out. I have two shots of those bushfires from my house.

Wheres is that shot btw? i dont recognize it.

Woke up to that smell one day and ran out to check out the fire, which of course was kilometers away =/
Heard the smoke was choking even way up in Lancelin, 120 kilometers or so north of the city.
I shot this from the South Perth foreshore. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment

Aw man. This makes me miss Perth. I lived there for 9 years. I remember those orange days caused by fires. I remember it being nasty, but beautiful akll at once. I remember one day where shadows were the most brilliant blue because of the orange haze.

Great shot!
I was in Perth last year, and with few exceptions I've never been so bored.
Where's your nightlife?!
Wonderful shot though.

Thank you!
Our nightlife is in Northbridge, Subiaco and Fremantle - or Cottesloe for a sunday session.
If you were hanging around in the CBD you missed Northbridge by no more than a kilometer

instant fav! I love how you've taken focus on the birdies, and then the redish tree, and behind all, the glorious city, a bit dim-ish!

I'd make it a print if I had a print account. Can't afford one at the moment - being a student sucks, moneywise.
