On THIS one (Original HERE:fav.me/d48oaey ), I played with the 'nanite conversion' effect, and tried to get into Adam & Ellie's heads a bit more.
(It MIGHT be a bit too much...)
This is a rebirth, so there is joy on Ellie's part, but it is tempered with sorrow for those possibilities and lives now left behind.

I figure Ellie/Worker is feeling some empathy for Adam during his/her transition.
She went through it herself a few minutes earlier.
She KNOWS her friend will be happier/better when she's done, but is sad that she's being scared at the moment.
(At least THAT'S how I'd put it NOW...

Yeah, I loved the designs Flamekin put together. They're a challenge to accurately reproduce in other 3D programs, tho.

Yup. They also, largely, seem to be HAPPIER as Gynoids, but that could be for multiple reasons... 0_0;;;;

With all respect to Flamekin, I definitely prefer this version. It doesn't come across as the complete personality switch that came about in the base story -- Flamekin said that they still had some emotions, but it really didn't come across to me. If I'm reading this right, Ellie realizes how terrified and hurt her boyfriend must be by her betrayal. She knows though that there is no way out and I suspect the flippant attitude is in part an attempt to get it over with quickly. Still it is curious why she made no real attempt to reassure him.
I am also curious how you'll handle the memories. In Flamekin's story, they decided to have them wiped without any hesitation. That was my least favorite part... never been too keen on identity death, and their feelings towards one another would logically be removed. We'll see how you do it.

She didn't try to reassure him because I was running out of open space! (and didn't want the panel to get TOO cramped.) 
(I was also not sure on how to break THIS page, as I did 12 & 12.5.)

I was putting down into words whatever came into my head ATM(and matching it up with Flamekin's original copy). I figure Adam would be DEVASTATED that Ellie got changed because he was unable to keep the promise he made on pg 1.
I think she's adjusted, (so that's not an issue with her) but she is resigned to her fate.
Their memories will likely stay, as I'm sure they can compartmentalize better, and focus on what they HAVE to do. Adam will have a BIT more adjustment due to his gender switch, and her role as hooker/scout. They could let the others 'back up' their memories for research, but would want to KEEP their 'selves'. I think, with their heightened A.I., that they'd realize that they wouldn't be THEM without the memories that formed them...
Plus, the possibility of another Gynoidian uploading thier memories and thinking that THEY were Ellie or Adam would be creepy/weird... 0_o;;
But I'll see what comes out, though!
