Ebon (nicknamed from Ekhramon)
Background: a high-ranking dark priest and a City Lord; the servant of Death, who despite the wicked ways of his people has managed to hold on both to a conscience and a heart of pure gold

Laureley
Background: the widowed empress of the Silverwoods, she lives for her people rather than for herself

The dark priest Ebon, representing the Mist Elves as their ambassador of peace and Empress Laureley of the Silverwoods first meet when they are brought together to negotiate a peace to end the centuries old hostilities between their people. From their first meeting they acknowledge a mutual sense of belonging, of attraction, that through the years of their acquaintance morphs into friendship and love. Yet they both know that a romance might have them fall out of favour with their own people, and help re-escalate the rivalries between the two elven nations. What they both want can never be public. For them there is only the hope of “If only” and “Maybe someday”.
