Description A wave 3 set from Lego Hidden Side

Hidden Side is a ghost/horror theme that involves two teens, Jack, and Parker, hunting and fighting ghosts around the small sea side town of Newbury. Aided by J.B. a scientist that develops all sorts of ghost hunting tech and is most likely a school bus driver, Elton Douglas a high school janitor that is also a stuntman called El Fuego, and Spencer as Jack's ghost dog.

The theme itself features an interactive AR app game for the phone or tablet. Where by scanning a set in the game, you hunt and capture ghosts based on certain areas you scan on the set itself. Revealing either ghosts to battle or balls of ectoplasms you have to collect. You even move around a colored dial that is found in every set, representing a different spectrum the ghosts maybe hiding in. All of the sets also feature a possessed version of several minifigs, mainly in the form of a ghostly head and accessories you swap out with the regular head, that you can scan with the app, and each set also features one boss ghost that has a very creative design. The more larger sets have at least one spring green piece that when scanned, unlocks the boss or a bonus collectable.

The Lego Phantom Fire Truck 3000 is the 60 dollar set of wave 3. And is in my opinion one of the must have sets of wave 3. The set itself made a cameo appearance in the final episode of season 2 of the web series after JB's bus was sacrificed to close the portal to the Hidden Side. Much like with the bus, the Phantom Fire Truck 3000 defiantly feels like a fire engine that was heavily modified for ghost hunting. Such as the small stickers that add details and references such as Tahu's mask from G1 Bionicle. Unlike the bus however, it does not feel like a mobile base, and more of a combat vehicle, as evident by the main play feature. The back of the truck can separate to become a walker style mech, having a transformation that is very simple to do. Sadly, no flick fire missiles or stud shooters, but the way it is built in certain areas is very clever. Another highlight is the large brick built version of wave 3's main villain, Nehmaar Reem, who is holding the Physical McGuffin that comes in this set. This enlarged version of Nemaar Reem was suppose to appear in the wave 2 set, The Light House of Darkness, most likely to help set up the third wave. But was changed to be included in this set for some reason. The minifigs in this set are JB, Parker, Jack, a Shadow-Walker, and Seymour TeeVee, a clear reference to TeeVee of Lego's Alpha Team theme. The spectrum wheel this time around is built into the cab of the truck and the boss ghost for this set is Blaze M. Barr AKA The Flame. Overall, this is one of the best sets of wave 3 and really shows a a lot of fun things to do with what you get for the set alone.
